Restaurant Review: Bamba Bistro

I’ve eaten in Bamba Bistro several times and I have never been disappointed with the food. So tonight, when my sister in law (SIL), Kat, (who I just learned that, in Chinese, Mark and I have to call her Aso) asked us where we should go for a mini despedida, I immediately thought of Bamba.

I called to reserve a table as we were a pretty big party, it was a breeze and the staff that took my reservation was pleasant and helpful.

When we got there, we had a whole little room to ourselves and that was great as we were able to make noise and talk with out disturbing other people. The ambiance was perfect. Clean and modern. Chic. In the heart of BF, this place is definitely not your ordinary hole in the wall restaurant. Just like their streamer outside says, it’s not your average bistro around the corner.

For our appetizers we ordered the French Fries Moderne and the Artichoke Crostini which were so yum! The french fries had honey, rosemary and feta cheese. Who would have thought that combination would work so well. Our 3 nephews enjoyed! The Artichoke Crostini was something the adults enjoyed too.

For our main course, Mark and our nephew, Raf, had Steak ala Manila which was a big slice of soft, tender steak marinated like Tapa with scrambled eggs that had truffle oil and fried rice. In short, a level up of our Filipino breakfast fave, Tapsilog. It was worth it. The boys gobbled it down.

Achie (Yummie) and our other nephew Zac had the Le Cochon Sliders. They were little sliders of crispy pork belly with fried wonton and slaw with this really yummy sauce. We should have ordered more! haha. It was as mouthwatering as it looked.

Our other nephew Angelo ordered the Surf N Turf Tacos. He said they tasted really good too. I did not get to have a bite as the serving was not as big as the other dishes.

Our friend (more like a sister) Christine had the Capellini Seafood Aglio Olio. It wasn’t as spectacular as the other dishes. She needed to add some salt and a little more cheese to satisfy her taste buds. She also had the mussels removed.

My Aso (haha!), Kat, had one of their new specials, Shroom Silog which was fried rice with Mushrooms and Foie Gras was also not as hot as the other dishes. SIL added some salt and could hardly taste the Foie Gras. She enjoyed the other dishes more.

I on the other hand ordered their Braised Beef sandwich which was AMAZING. The bread they used was a huge pan de sal and the braised beef was so soft! I could eat it everyday!

And of course, being the eaters we are, we could not end the meal with out dessert and boy were they super. We ordered the Smores dip (it was so good the boys had to order some more!), the Apple Crumble ala Mode and the Pizza-cookie. We gobbled them all down. Definitely a place you can go to for dessert and be satisfied. I noticed that there aren't too many dessert places in BF, so this was definitely a treat.

All in all, we had a wonderful time in Bamba Bistro. I will keep on coming back and I cannot wait to try all the other dishes Chef Tina Legarda will come up with.

Great food, amazing company and fantastic desserts. What more could you ask for?

My overall rating 4.5 out of 5 stars (just cos my SIL and Christine weren't too happy with their orders as much).

Have you eaten in Bamba Bistro? If not, you should!

Til the next blog.

Besos,

Tina
